The Farmington Veteran’s Memorial Committee was created by the Farmington Town Council on February 26, 1991.  The Town Council appointed a committee of six Farmington veterans to consider planning for a memorial to honor all of Farmington’s veterans.  The charge of the Committee was to  select a site, design and organize a fund drive to make the project successful.  The following were the original members of the Committee Paul W. Menzel, Chair, T. John Crockett III, Robert M. Duncan, John P. Grocki, Andrew Lesiak, and Captain Dwight Wadsworth.  The Committee selected Paula B. Ray as its Secretary.  After the completion of the Farmington Town Hall Memorial, the Committee’s role changed to oversee and preserve all the memorials in Town dedicated to its veterans.  The Committee’s duties have expanded to include activities for the Memorial Day and Veteran’s Day celebrations.
