Town Manager's Message

Welcome to the Town of Farmington!

Farmington is a historic and progressive Town, committed to high quality services with a balanced blend of open space, residential housing, and commercial developments. Farmington is enhanced by low taxes, Blue Ribbon schools, low crime rate, numerous parks and trails, the beautiful Farmington River, and many museums and historic districts.

Farmington continues to be an economic leader in the Hartford region and consistently has one of the lowest mill rates. We continue to maintain a triple A Moody’s rating. This is a result of a stable governing body, financial management stability, a strong tax base, funding our reserve account appropriately and our continued commitment to funding our pension in a responsible manner. We have a vibrant business community with over 2,000 businesses and 30,000 people employed by Farmington companies.

Farmington is a great place to live, work, play and prosper. We remain well positioned in terms of economic development, exceptional education and providing high level services without substantially increasing taxes. I am always interested in your input and welcome comments, questions and suggestions. Please do not hesitate to contact my office at 860.675.2350.
