Construction Projects
Construction Projects In-Progress:
- Town of Farmington Road Repair & Reconstruction Plan - Updated September 2023
- Burlington Road Reconstruction Project - The Town of Farmington has been awarded funding under the State of Connecticut LOTCIP program for the Burlington Road Reconstruction Project. The purpose of the project is to provide a consistent pavement, lane, and shoulder widths, an improved drainage system, and improve pavement conditions. The project is currently in the final design phase. Please reach out to Dylan Reilly (ReillyD@farmington-ct.org) with any questions regarding the project.
Construction Plans
- State Project #51-0272: Unionville Bridge Rehabilitation Project - The CT Department of Transportation started this project in March 2021. During construction, they discovered that the structural steel for the sidewalk support and railings were in worse condition than anticipated requiring a redesign. Paving of the bridge was completed on September 19, 2023.
- South Road at Colt Highway & Two Mile Road, Roundabout Project - The Town of Farmington has been awarded funding under the State of Connecticut LOTCIP program for the South Road/Colt Highway Roundabout. The purpose of the project is to improve traffic circulation through the intersection during peak volume times, which currently has delays during both the AM and PM peak hours. As of September 20, 2023, approximately 33% of the project has been completed.
- Knollwood Road Water Main Project - Connecticut Water Company is beginning installation of a new water main the week of Sept. 25th in Farmington on Knollwood Road between Northwoods Road and Wyndwood Road. About one-mile, or 5,000 feet, of water main will be installed at a cost of approximately $2.0 million. Work hours for the project will be 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The project is expected to be complete by the end of the year.

- State Project No. 0051-0274- Intersection Improvements on Colt Highway at I-84 Entrance Ramp - Managed by the State of CT DOT
- Brickyard Road Pavement Rehabilitation Project- Phase 2 - Funded under the State of Connecticut LOTCIP program for Phase 2 of the Brickyard Road Pavement Rehabilitation Project.
