Apply for a Permit Online

The Town of Farmington uses an online permitting system; this system will allow you to apply for permits and make payments from the office or home.

Applications that can be applied for are:

  • Building / Zoning Permits
  • Sewer Permits
  • Obstruction/Excavation Permits
  • West Farms Mall Tenant Improvements

The site will require you to enter an email address and create a password for access to the site.

You will then be given the choice of permit type.

Please fill out the form completely; this will prevent delays during the approval process.

You will be notified via email, multiple times, through out the approval process informing you of the application status. You may also log in to the system (https://farmingtonct.viewpointcloud.com) to view the current status of pending applications by checking your profile page.

After any needed approvals are complete you will be required to pay a fee; this is based upon the work being done.

Payments may be made online, in person, or mailing a check payable to Town of Farmington; please print the permit number in the memo section of the check. The Mailing address is:

A electronic permit (Building / Zoning) will be issued though the new system after payment has been processed.  Please print and keep on job site at all times.

Please note that the application process is not an approval to begin work.  Work on a project may only begin after the application has been approved, payment has been made, AND a valid permit has been issued.

Inspections will be scheduled by phoning the building department at 860-675-2315.

A Certificate of Occupancy or Certificate of Acceptance will be issued, by the system, after a final inspection has occurred.
